The TSG Blades Overt and Covert were meticulously designed, merging features and characteristics of numerous other tactical and concealment knives to create the ultimate fixed-blade. Designed for multiple operating environments, the TSG Overt uses the highest-quality materials sourced domestically from the USA.  

More than just looking the part, the design of the Overt is a culmination of 20 years of active military experience.  Designer Trey Lindsey wanted to create the ultimate edged field tool he wanted during deployment.  The Overt features all the design elements he would recommend to those who attend his training seminars to look for when selecting a fixed blade.

Everything from the blade and handle profile, dimensions, and handle and blade textures have a specific purpose.  TSG Blades is confident that the Overt will serve those who want a hard-use knife for tactical applications to outdoor, hunting, and bushcraft use.

Hand built in Mead, CO, the TSG Overt is built in small batches to ensure the highest quality standards.  Releases are in limited quantities, and reservations for allotment are open throughout the year.

The heart of this tactical knife is its premium 154CM stainless steel blade—a material specifically chosen for its exceptional balance of properties crucial for field operations. This American-made steel delivers superior edge retention, remarkable corrosion resistance, and impressive toughness that professionals demand.

An excellent heat treatment process achieves a Rockwell hardness of 58-60 HRC—the sweet spot where edge retention and ease of sharpening meet.

The blade's geometry features a flat grind transitioning to a precision-honed edge, providing exceptional slicing capability while maintaining the structural integrity needed for more demanding tasks. The spine thickness offers the necessary strength for batoning and prying applications, 

Each knife undergoes individual inspection and hand-finishing to guarantee consistent performance across every unit. The result is a blade that performs reliably, whether you're processing materials in austere environments, performing rescue operations, or doing everyday cutting tasks, functioning without compromise.

Ergonomic Handle Design: Confident Control in Any Condition

The handles have a scalloped pattern for a secure grip.  We engineered the handle pattern to be used with or without gloves.

Unlike conventional tactical handles that prioritize aggressive texturing at the expense of user comfort, the Overt's Peel Ply G10 scales incorporate a balanced approach—secure enough for confident handling during intense activities yet comfortable for extended use. This thoughtful design allows operators to maintain precision control whether barehanded or while wearing tactical gloves, eliminating the need to compromise between grip security and handling comfort.

The handle's contour follows natural hand ergonomics, with strategic finger grooves that guide your grip into optimal positions for various cutting techniques and applications. These subtle but critical design elements reduce hand fatigue during prolonged use while enhancing overall control.

Practical Sheath Systems for Versatile Carry Options

Each TSG Overt includes a purpose-built Kydex sheath featuring the versatile Ulti-Clip attachment system. This innovative design allows for multiple carry configurations, easily transitioning between left and right-hand deployment without additional accessories. The modular nature of this system enables users to adapt their carry position based on mission requirements, equipment layout, or personal preference—delivering genuine tactical versatility.

Unlike mass-manufactured fixed blade knives prioritizing volume over precision, each TSG Overt is individually hand-assembled and sharpened in our Mead, CO factory. This deliberate process begins with carefully inspecting every raw material component before it's even cleared for assembly—a level of scrutiny impossible in high-volume production.

Each knife undergoes rigorous testing for blade centering, edge geometry, handle ergonomics, and overall fit and finish before receiving final approval.
